I’ve had a passion for exercise and fitness for the past 25 years. I’ve developed an interest for exercise while I was watching my brother, who was a bodybuilder, at the local gym. I also enjoyed helping my friends and making sure they were executing the exercises in the right way. I read about not only how to get big and strong but how to be healthy and fit. At this time going to college to study fitness was new but that’s what I wanted to do for his career.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an option in Exercise Science. The Study of Kinesiology provides a detailed understanding of the movement of the human body in relation to sports, dance, and exercise. Kinesiology encompasses the entire person, including the impact of the mind on the body. I believe mental visualization can enhance physical performance and exercise can reduce mental stress. As a student of Kinesiology, I have developed an understanding of the role of movement in wellness that is influential in wellness and fitness programs ranging through the corporate world to public programs. As a graduate of this program I work today with people at every stage of life – from young adults to aging populations, with the able-bodied and the disabled at varying levels, with elite athletes and performers as well as those who just want to stay in shape.
Learning from the base of health and going upward will give you a full and healthy life. Knowledge is key to unlock your potential. As it becomes a habit it will get easier to execute.
