I’ve had a passion for exercise and fitness for the past 25 years. I’ve developed an interest for exercise while I was watching my brother, who was a bodybuilder, at the local gym. I also enjoyed helping my friends and making sure they were executing the exercises in the right way. I read about not only how to get big and strong but how to be healthy and fit. At this time going to college to study fitness was new but that’s what I wanted to do for his career.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an option in Exercise Science. The Study of Kinesiology provides a detailed understanding of the movement of the human body in relation to sports, dance, and exercise. Kinesiology encompasses the entire person, including the impact of the mind on the body. I believe mental visualization can enhance physical performance and exercise can reduce mental stress. As a student of Kinesiology, I have developed an understanding of the role of movement in wellness that is influential in wellness and fitness programs ranging through the corporate world to public programs. As a graduate of this program I work today with people at every stage of life – from young adults to aging populations, with the able-bodied and the disabled at varying levels, with elite athletes and performers as well as those who just want to stay in shape.

Learning from the base of health and going upward will give you a full and healthy life. Knowledge is key to unlock your potential. As I have learned through my years in this business you need to know what goes into being healthy and fit. Put in the time and you will reap the benefits. As it becomes a habit it will get easier to execute.

I’ve has been working in the fitness industry professionally for 20 years and have learned through all of those years. I started at Easton Sports in their corporate fitness center went on to work at LA Private Trainers and Mid-Valley Athletic Club. During this time I received a Certified Personal Training Certification from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine).

I started DP Fitness Training in 2000 and has enjoyed the challenge of helping people have a quality to their life. He has learned from a young age about work ethic; doing anything right the first time, learn from what you’ve been taught, no complaining, and having accountability.
